Any kind of bread although I love it puts the weight on for me, if I have one sandwich a day I can guarantee I will have put 1-2 lbs on in a week.
Anybody else have this problem?

Rachel, I have a food sensitivity to wheat, so when I started my diet I decided to give it up, especially bread. I will tell you when I did I felt so much better. My constant heart burn and gerd or acid reflux went away. I try to not eat any bread, but if I have a burger I will only eat part of the bun. I eat it with a knife and fork. If you eat plenty of low glycemic vegetables and leave the potatoes and all white stuff--flour etc. alone you won't have the craving for bread and sweets. Also cut out pasta:( I love that stuff I could roll in it. Anyway eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from white stuff. Switch to brown rice but only eat it occasionaly. Don't use artificial sweetners. Use agave nectar it is low glycemic. and also drink plenty of water. I have trouble doing that, but anyway try and watch your weight come steadily off. That is how I have lost almost 40 pounds since october.
Also use coconut oil to pan fry meat if you eat it that way. Have olive oil in your salads, and stay away from low fat foods (processed foods) Low fat only means there is more sugar in it.
Hope this will help.

Wow didn’t know that, I don’t get heart bur, from bread but I see what you mean, I also did not know about processed foods how can they do that and get away with it, I to love pasta but only on some occasions , I will try and stay away from the foods you suggest and hopefully stop that craving.
Thank you for your advice and taking the time.

Bread is the worst for me, I have been told though that I must eat more fruit and vegetables or else.

there is a rice bread that is sold in health food stores, but it is high glycemic. If you must eat bread try it toasted. It isn't to bad, but remember it isn't low glycemic. the more you can stay away from bread and white flour and anything white like potatoes and white rice the better off you will be. One potato you can eat is the yellow finish potato. Eat 1/2 of one. I like to slice them thin and toss them in about one or two teaspoons of olive oil add salt and pepper and bake them in the over. It is like eating healthy fried potatoes. When I am really craving starch this helps. These potatos are on the low glycemic side.

If you really like bread try to go with 100% grain this is high in fiber bread and has a lot more taste to it.

Try a bread high in fiber. I only like white bread but have found many are now fortified with extra fiber. Up to 5 per slice is great.
