How do others make time for working out? When my husband gets home from work on time I always try to go for at least a 30 minute walk. But he has to work late hours very often and I cannot very well leave my child alone to go for my walk. What can I do on those days to remain active? PS I hate workout dvds

With kids I understand, my sister has three and although she always seems to be on the run you would think that she would be 70 pounds wet through, so her solution now is spend more time with the kids i.e. play football with them they love hide and seek and she now jogs up and down the stairs, hope this helps.

sometimes that's the only way, play with the kids. My daughter is only 8 but when I took her to the playground (has an 1/8 mile track around it) she tried jogging with me. She loved it. Now I don't have to drag her out. Maybe I've created a future track star...

we recently put up a basketball goal in the driveway. I don't know a thing about b-ball but my husband and kids drag me out. I think you burn more calories when you are bad at it. It kicked my behind more than a workout at the gym. try it.

I have really just had to be very determined that I have to make time for exercise and make it a part of my daily routine. No more excuses! It has to be as important as going to work and cleaning the house. For those with young children, though, I sympathize. I vividly remember being in situations where there was no time for myself and now I am trying to make up for that lost time.

My child just ran into the room where I'm typing. HMM, makes me wonder. We are up and down and all around daily. Chasing the 9 year old too. Set time. I don't think so, but I sure would love it!
