your target heart rate? I remember doing back in school but it has been a long time. Does anyone know of a website that can tell me? I thought I read something a while back that you want to be in your target zone to get the most out of your workout.

ask your doctor. I have some heart issues restricting my cardio. Most charts for heart rate are based on age, there are many on the web. But consult your dr.

I agree, ask your doctor. A one size fite all is NOT the pproach to take when dealing with your heart. It's always wise to consult your doctor when you are seriously thinking of beginning a plan.

Get a physical to check out your "ticker". About 2 years ago I went in for some concerns and told my doctor about I recently took up jogging. He learned my family history of severe heart disease so as a precaution, he gave me a treadmill stress test. got cleared for my exercise but also found some irregular beats he will watch over the years.

Another vote for check with your doctor. I don't care what age you are, there is always the possibility of something odd going on with your heart. It's too important not to do!
