Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Both of my children have moved on and are enjoying their own lives, my husband is addicted to the television, and that leaves just me. I am ready to start anew. Lose a few pounds, do something for myself for a change. I am starting with a big lifestyle change and will let you know all about my progress, the good and the bad. Wish me luck because here I go!

I have done pretty well all week but the weekend is definitely a killer! I just want to reward myself with food for all of the hard work that I have put in during the week and I have to get out of this mode of food as a reward. Any suggestions for how to make this happen? I am not going to beat myself up though, just keep trudging along toward my goals!

I have done so well these past few days and that makes me feel happy, proud of what I am starting to accomplish. Already my self esteem is going up and I feel positive about my eating and workouts. I just hope that this momentum can get me through the weekends, which is definitely the hardest times for me.

Sometimes it is time to do something for yourself. I appreciate the sentiments. Kids gone for three years now. I m thankful my husband isn't a sports tv nut . . . just golf. I like about a round a month.

Wow yesterday was so hard to stay on track with all of the yummy food we had for our Easter dinner. But I was able to modify a few recipes and hopefully trimmed the fat and calories just a bit. So I got a little off track but not too bad! I even exercised which I would have never done before in the past on a holiday weekend so I am feeling good about my progress today.
