I have never been much in the way of a journaler or one who writes much of everything but this intrigues me because I have always heard that keeping a food and exercise diary will help you better achieve your goals, so why not one of personal experiences? Do you guys find that writing here is just a good way to get everything out and seek answers from others? has it helped you with your program?

my personal journal at home is my lifeline. how can you truely lie to yourself? journaling your feelings and maybe what you've eaten that day really helps me. if i'm having a bad week, i go back and read thru a happy time or a good time on my diet program and think what i can do to repeat that week. works for me !

Keeping a food and exercise diary has been especially helpful for me too. I write down everything I eat and what I do for exercise- it is a way of keeping me accountable to myself I suppose.

I have always had an issue with writing. I like to let it all out vocally. I've never tried to keep a fitness journal. Sounds like you might be able to actually keep up with what you did and not fudge on the length!

I keep one for my prayer life, my love life, my eating life, my exercise life. Acutally it is the same book but I do pick up different pen colors!!!!! GEEK alert! But it works for me.

thanks for all of your replies- as i have been going thru the program I have found it to be fairly helpful to keep a journal especially to keep track of everything that I eat. It holds me a little more accountable than what I had been previously doing so thanks!

I totally agree- the journal does hold you a little more accountable than you may otherwise be. It helps me out and makes me think twice about popping those handfuls of M&Ms.
