how often do you weigh yourself? better yet, how often should we be weighing ourselves. sometimes i get a bit obsessed and get on a few times a day. what is healthy (mentally, i mean?)

I hate to weigh- I have always let my clothes tell me when I am putting on some weight. But recently I have read that the people who do best are those who weigh every day- you get a better feel for when the weight starts to creep back on and you can immediately get back on your program. maybe when I think I am at a number I can stand to look at every day then I will get on the scales again too!:p

this topic has reminded me of what i did about 7 years ago when loosing a lot of weight. i was getting crazy about the scale. weighing mornings, afternoons, naked, with and with out shoes, after a big meal, everything. i dedided to move the scale in the kitchen near the fridge to help remind me to do the right thing. i may do it again. thanks for the thought.

i believe a healthy number is once a week. weighing daily can really play with you mind because we naturally go up and down a little. once a week, first thing in the morning is best. I prefer friday mornings because i stay on my plan better sun - fri. if i cheat it is on the weekend, usually saturdays.

But i have heard others say recently that we need to weigh every day, that this gives you a better idea of how you are doing. I know someone who does this but personally it would drive me a little crazy. Once every week is a gracious planty for me.
