I don;t think I can over-emphasis the importance of staying fit as a family. Every single day, no matter what, we do some form of exercise gathering. It may seem dorky to some, but as parents we have to give our children this lesson!

I think this is great- I wish I had done more of this when my children were younger. I think that we are models for the behavior of our kids, and when they see us being healthy and engaging in exercise and other healthy activities they will want to do the same.

thanks for reminding me of the responsibility we have to our kids about this matter. I need to do more of that, I'll have to start slowly. Change out an afternoon snack with something a little more healthy. If i put a salad out for my kids tonight they would fall out the chair in shock !! I'm not doing a bad job but I can do better.

My child's school does not allow any snack, party food, etc. unless it follows healthy snack guildelines. How MAGNIFICENT! No gooey, icing laden cupcakes full of sugar there. I had a make-your-own-heart-healthy sundae party of Valentine's Day and I had to remind them that it was a healthy option (they thought I was tryign to get away with something!) Frozen yougurt, fresh strawberries and bananas, yougurt covered raisins, and gummy bears (0 fat). Amazing!
