I am my own obstacle. I make excuses for every day. It's too cold, it's raining, i need to do laundry, need to work on my volunteer work, must pay bills, need to pack for trip next week. I can go on and on and on. If I can overcome myself, I'll have it made.

Sometimes overcoming those internal voices IS the hardest part of getting started. But once you start you are going to feel so good about yourself that it will be hard to stop! Just tell yourself that you need to take a little bit of "me" time every day and commit this to your exercise. Put it on your calendar and make this a must keep appointment. And if it's cold outside? Find something you can do indoors like strength training.

Good grief! What excuse have I NOT used for staying away from exercise. . . . or eating what I shouldn't. . . . . or just hanging around when I should be outside with the kids. I'm tired!!!!!!!! Give me strength!!!!!!

Life is my obstacle. Don't you ever feel like you're at the bottom of the totem pole? Exercise is sub-terranean a lot of the time! Motivation, motivation, motivation . . .one glance in a swinsuit!

I would like to know who of us on this forum is NOT their own enemy when it comes to getting healthy. Everyone can do this we just have to get past ourselves. We tell ourselves we cant, don't have time, don't have energy, can't afford it, and on and on and on.
